Digital maps

Croatian and Slavonian Military Frontiers, 1550 – 1570

The map depicts the period between 1550 and 1570. Click on the icon in the upper left corner to open the drop-down menu, which will allow you to select the year. By clicking on the icons featured in the map an interactive window will pop up. The windows contain information on the fortress or station you have selected – garrison size, number of post-horses, and notes on inconsistencies.

You can find the map key bellow the digital map. The key lists the meaning of colours, sources, sites which could not be located, and the number of soldiers whose location was not listed.
