Correspondence between Nikola Jurišić and King Ferdinand

Book Urkunden und Actenstuecke zur Geschichte des Verhaeltnisseszwischen Oesterreich, Ungern und der Pforte im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert contains a wealth of 16th-century material collected by the historian Anton von Gevay. A total of 11 parts were issued, which were later collected in 3 large volumes. Below are links to all three volumes, but for us the first volume is especially important because it contains a series of reports that Nikola Jurišić, as an imperial official, soldier and diplomat on a mission to the Sultan in Constantinople in 1530, submitted to King Ferdinand. Also, among the sources we can find instructions given by the king to the diplomats before their journey.

Volume I

Since the volume consists of four subsequently linked parts, it is a bit awkward to navigate the number of pages because the publisher decided to keep the original numbering (so after about 50 pages of the volume, the page numbers start again from zero). However, the book is fortunately OCRed, so it is possible to search by words - so we advise the user to type "Juris" in the search field to see all the mentioned reports. If the search is not possible in the attached PDF below (due to restrictions by Google), open this link and search will be enabled.
